I was amazed when I stood on the scales at SW tonight, a loss of 3 1/2 pounds which pushed my weight loss over the 3 stone mark. Have now reset my target, yet again, and am going for 12 st 7lb final target. When I hit that I will be the lightest I have been since the late 1980’s when I was running half marathons and training for the odd marathon here and there (5 London Marathons in total) .
Feeling well happy.
Decided on a shorter mixed terrain run today, so started out as usual through the village but on the way back diverted out on to the flood plains (dry at moment) and did a bit on there, conditioning the legs for Horsham parkrun in the winter or even a return to Cranleigh. Ended up running a 2.7 mile route so happy with that.
Well, it’s Monday again and that only means one thing ‘WEIGH IN DAY’, having re-set my target weight last week the big question is, will I have simply maintained again or will I have lost a pound or two?
Food intake for the day:
Breakfast as usual Overnight Oats
Lunchtime was a rather nice brunch type meal of scrambled eggs on toast, 2 sausages, 2 rashers bacon, grilled tomatoes and bubble&squeak.
Late afternoon snack of crackers, Laughing Cow cheese and chilli.
Just for a change I thought I would have some Overnight Oats
At lunchtime I had some crackers and fishsticks with a good portion of baby plum tomatoes and a bit of fruit.
For our evening meal we both had the rest of the Chicken Korma with some rice and a 0% fat yoghurt to finish with.
My treats for the day were 3 HiFi bars (well I do have so many SW syns to get through)
Before I left this morning I enjoyed my normal morning Overnight Oats and had the planned brunch in my mind all through the run
Arrived back home and after a quick shower it was brunch time. It consisted of 2 x SW sausages(new Italian style), 2 rashers thick cut smoked bacon (all visible fat removed), grilled tomatoes, homemade Bubble and Squeak, dry fried egg and baked beans. Believe me it went down a treat.
Tonight will be Cheesy Bacon Potatoes, so a really good on plan day with a total of 16 syns used.
Today I ventured out and did another tourist run, this time at Cranleigh. As is my style, I arrived quite early to meet some of the locals and to have a chat with Martyn, as I got out of the car the heavens opened and it started to
pi rain rather heavily , so I got back in the car for a while until it eased. Went and had a chat and then back to the car to change shoes and wait for the start and for young Susie to arrive from Horsham as she wanted to run here as well.
The run was started by the local MP with a shout of ” 3 2 1 GO” and we were off and running , the rain had not really made the ground soft but just made the top surface a tad slippery in places, I have to admit that the “notorious hill/bump” did not bother me that much on the way up but the downhill was a little slippery so took it easy as didn’t fancy driving back all soaked from a couple of judo rolls down the hill. All to soon the second time over the hump happened and then it was the fence run section and the finish was in site, a little push and that was it, JOB DONE. My official time was 32 mins 42 secs, which I am happy with considering I wore road shoes on a slightly slippery off road course, so all in all a good run for me.
As it is a no running day I have had time to prep a couple of bits for us to eat over the next few days, tonight will be chicken korma and pillau rice, for tomorrow’s brunch I made some fresh ‘bubble & squeak’ and then a couple of ‘cheesy, potatoes and bacon bits’ dish.
Just waiting on some Gummy Bears (for the grandkids) and some larger jelly sweets to set.
As has become my normal practice, today is the second no running day of the week. Looking forward to trying Cranleigh parkrun tomorrow but a little disappointed that the weather has turned a bit and we have had some wet stuff falling from the sky. At least now the weather forecast shows the Cranleigh area as being dry for the rest of the evening and over night but with the chances of light showers between 9 and 11 am tomorrow, there is a good chance that the ground will not be that bad.
Time for my sit up, yoga stretch and weights session.
As per the last two weeks, today is the first of two non running days prior to parkrun. Will be content to do my 100 sit ups and assorted weight exercises combined with a few yoga stretches
