The start of yet another week saw us driving up to spend a day with Chris, a very busy day as well and eventually arrived back home at 17.30 feeling shattered.
Breakfast was 2 Weetabix, milk, a banana and a mug of black Americano coffee.
Lunch was a simple snack of seafood sticks and ham with some baby plum tomatoes.
Evening meal once again let me down as what with feeling a tad shattered it was a quick reach for the easy stuff and ended up with a baton filled with 2 Tesco healthy sausages and some bacon medallions.
Started the day with 2 Weetabix, a banana and a big mug of black Americano coffee to get me started.
A very busy day today as went to take photos at the Horsham junior pakrun, as Abi was running and I always try and take some pictures when she is there. She did very well and set her self a new Personal Best time since she started.
Once I had finished with the junior parkrun I had to dash to take photos of the Horsham Joggers Gunpowder Trot, which I ran last year, as I had volunteered to do some photography this year. I was position at the top of the rather long hill climb and took 900 photos but many were the result of the ‘Multi Shutter’ setting so by the time I whittled the multis down I ended up with 198.
Lunch was a weekend brunch meal again followed by a snack type evening meal.
Not a fantastic day food wise but not a disaster.
The good news is that my knee seems to have suffered NO side effects from yesterday’s ‘parkwalk’ and seemed great even after my climb up the hill with all my camera kit in it’s backpack plus a camping chair and a BIG flask of black coffee.
Up early and had a couple of Weetabix for breakfast, a banana and a mug of black Americano coffee.
Enjoyed the walk around Horsham park this morning, although it was muddy and my walking boots have very little grip. I wore the boots so as I was not tempted to break in to a jog but next time it will have to be my trail shoes so as I can avoid slipping as that could be disastrous for my knee, I planned to finish in under the hour and got a clock time of 56 minutes but I did pick up some signage on the last lap which slowed me down. Garmin showed me as 56 minutes but Strava which takes in to account the stops I made to pick up signs showed me as having a moving time of 52.44 so more than happy with that, will try to go sub 50 next week as I will be wearing my trail soled trainers. Will try with just some K-Tape strapping next week but also going to try a couple of 2 mile walks during the week and see if I can get back on some kind of exercise regime again. I MISS MY RUNNING, I don’t care if it takes me 45 mins I just want to be able to run/jog parkrun again and then get out and do the odd touring again.
Standard brunch for me at lunch time but must try a LOT harder from now on. No good me preaching to Chris and not practising my own advice.
Another quiet day as busy sorting bits and emptying my car as I have a loan car arriving today.
Food wise I started off well and didn’t go too far off the rails. One good thing is that Chris seems to be getting his act together and exercising a bit more now.
Got my loan car and it is an Octavia Scout which means it is a 4×4, nice car with lots of bells and whistles but a smaller engine. Nicer slightly upright seating, a little higher than mine but still much lower than the old ‘Beast’. Must admit that it sticks like ‘S### to a shovel’ with the 4×4 so going to enjoy using it for the next week.
Went to collect Zac a little early so had a nice 1 mile walk around the green and felt that I was moving at a pace that would equate to a 54 minute parkrun time so looking forward to giving it a try on Saturday. I must remember to either wear the brace of some strapping (K-tape) on Saturday as don’t want to go backwards.
Later start to the day today as no rush to get anywhere, 2 weetabix, banana and a mug of black Americano coffee started the day.
Next task was to phone the nice man that hit the back of my car yesterday for his insurance details and he gave me a number for a company that deals with any insurance claims for them. Rang them and spoke to a very helpful chap who stated that we had to do nothing as their insurance company will cover everything. He then told me to expect a call from their repairers who would provide me with a loan cat (Skoda Octavia no less) and that call came at 1.30pm and the young lady made an appointment for their company to change the cars over on Thursday at mid-day. Not bad ‘hit on Monday and collected for repair on Thursday’, mind you would just rather have not been hit.
Spent the afternoon setting up video playing equipment and showing a ‘Memories video’ at a wake for somebody from our building and unfortunately had a few nibbles from the buffet
Early start to the day as I was going to see Chris for the day.
Quick breakfast of 2 weetabix, banana and a mug of black Americano coffee.
Nice easy drive up to Chris followed by a mug of ‘instant’ black coffee
Chris drove us over to Homebase in Staines, in my car, and as we left the car park to return to his place some idiot of a White Van man hit the back of the car and accused Chris of undertaking him but changed his statement after I said that the footage from my dash cam would prove that there were no vehicles in front of the car at any time once we left the car park. So after a bit of salad lunch at Chris’s I returned home with a slightly wounded car.
That was the excitement for the day, I ended the day with a nice omelette and a Muller Light yoghurt.
Another bright but not so early start. Breakfast of 2 weetabix, banana and a mug of black Americano stuff and it was off to Horsham Park, again!, to take photos of the Halloween junior parkrun.
After I had finished at the park I decided to have a stroll around the park with the camera and take some ‘Autumnal’ photos (CLICK HERE TO VIEW) and then to do a ‘dummy run’ in preparation for next Sunday when I will be taking photos of the junior parkrun again, Abigail is running it, and then dash off to the hill near to Chesworth Farm and take photos of the HJ Gunpowder Trot. It will be easy as managed it in 20 minutes including walking up the hill. Overall I walked close on 1¾ miles with no pain or problems with the knee, still wearing the brace but it seems to be doing the job where rehabilitation is concerned.
Lunchtime was another brunch of oven cooked potato slices, bacon medallions, 2 tesco healthy choice sausages, tinned plum tomatoes and scrambled egg with of course a mug of black Americano coffee.
Spent a couple of hours processing and resizing the photos from the morning and then chilled for a while before my evening meal of Steamed chicken breast with some boiled new potatoes and salad, followed by some fresh pineapple with natural yoghurt 😎
A bright and early, but not too early, so as I could have a baked oats, banana and a nice big mug of black Americano coffe to get my day well and truly started.
Got my makeup done by Vicky and set off to the park, got a couple of funny looks when stopped at the traffic lights though and this is the reason why
Spent a pleasant hour taking snaps of happy runners and really feeling down in the dumps but starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Lunchtime meal was a nice brunch of Oven cooked potato slices, bacon medallions, scrambles eggs and some tinned plum tomatoes, with 1 wholemeal thin plus of course another black Americano coffee.
Spent a couple of hours sorting through the 1100 photos I took and decided on 408 to use, so then a quick mass resizing job and once a header photo was made it was a quick upload and job done !!
Chill out time and then time for my evening snack which was not 100% good as me and Vicky shared a small portion of chips and a portion of batter cod ‘½ of the fish each’ and then after a while it was bed time.
