Got to stop having these mid morning starts as lose so much of the day but then again as we have a brunch instead of breakfast and lunch it works well for the food intake.
Today’s brunch was 2 dry fried eggs, 2 sausages (Tesco Healthy Option), 3 bacon medallions, baked beans, grilled (well oven cooked) tomatoes, potato slices and 1 x 50/50 thin plus of course 2 mugs of lovely black Americano coffee.
A little bit of an outing in to Horsham Park to place the new signs in the store room and then a walk in to Horsham for a little bit of festive shopping. Back to the car and back to home and out of the flipping cold.
Evening meal was a large portion of Chilli Con Carne with boiled rice followed by a nice Banana and Custard Muller Light Yoghurt as dessert.
Only treats for the day were 4 small Pink Panther wafers.
Did a set of exercise for my knee and will do another set before bed.
Vicky decided to leave me asleep this morning while she went down and fed the swans & ducks and then came back in for a while and eventually we both woke up at gone 9am. As we were late starting the morning we opted to have another brunch morning so cooked ourselves a mix of 2 Sausages(Healthy Option ones), bacon medallions, potato slices, baked beans and some oven cooked mushrooms with a dry fried egg. Plus, of course for me, a large mug of black Americano coffee.
Nibbled on a few satsumas and a banana during the day and for our main meal we had ½ a LARGE jacket potato covered with home made Chilli Con Carne followed by a nice Muller Light yoghurt as dessert.
Slept in a bit as seem to have picked up a touch of the sniffles, courtesy of Zac and Abi 😵, so decided to go with a full blown brunch meal. Scrambled eggs, baked beans, 2 x Tesco Healthy Option sausages, 3 x bacon medallions, oven cooked mushrooms and a toasted 50/50 Thin. Plus of course 2 x mugs of black Americano coffee ☕☕
I now need to stay warm in the garage while I fit the velcro straps to the new parkrun Caution Runners signs. Fitted all the velcro and worked out how we can suspend a couple of other signs from trees, so a nice busy afternnon and now time to go pick up Abi and Zac from school(s)
Nibbled a bit of fruit during the day, satsumas and an apple, and by the time evening meal time arrived just didn’t feel that hungry so nibble 8 seafood sticks and called it a day. Overall I am happy with how the day went.
Was meant to be an early start to take the kiddies to school but Michelle decided to stay home today so it was not necessary and we had no need to pick them up as their father was coming down to take them out for a few hours after school.
Quick breakfast of banana and black Americano coffee, plus a Tesco cereal bar.
Lunchtime was a small snack of a 50/30 Thin with some ham slices and seafood sticks.
During the afternoon me and Vicky decided to go out for a little forest walk at Fittleworth Common. Only 1.2 miles but quite hilly and muddy but we did manage to collect quite a few nice Sweet Horse Chestnuts for consumption later, also stopped a lot as Vicky wanted to look at all of the amazing trees and views, planning on returning tomorrow with my camera and take a few photos.
Evening meal was a nice Chicken& potato Omelette with a Muller Light yoghurt as dessert.
Nice lie in this morning so started the day with a nice portion of Overnight Oats, banana and black Americano coffee.
Lunchtime came very soon so had a 50/50 thin with some ham, watercress and sliced tomato along with a nice mug of tea.
When I went to pick Zac up I arrived 45 minutes early to put a pair of cross trail/road shoes and do a mixed terrain walk. Most of it was road with just over ½ mile across a field and around the recreation ground. Even tried 4 x 30 second gentle jogs as well, just to test the knee, and feel very confident for a return to running in 4 weeks as planned as there was no problems at all.
Evening meal was a steamed chicken breast with some pre boiled new potatoes cooked in the oven, plus some baked beans. A Muller Light yoghurt was the dessert.
Up early and had a couple of Weetabix for breakfast, a banana and a mug of black Americano coffee.
Enjoyed the walk around Horsham park this morning, although it was muddy and my walking boots have very little grip. I wore the boots so as I was not tempted to break in to a jog but next time it will have to be my trail shoes so as I can avoid slipping as that could be disastrous for my knee, I planned to finish in under the hour and got a clock time of 56 minutes but I did pick up some signage on the last lap which slowed me down. Garmin showed me as 56 minutes but Strava which takes in to account the stops I made to pick up signs showed me as having a moving time of 52.44 so more than happy with that, will try to go sub 50 next week as I will be wearing my trail soled trainers. Will try with just some K-Tape strapping next week but also going to try a couple of 2 mile walks during the week and see if I can get back on some kind of exercise regime again. I MISS MY RUNNING, I don’t care if it takes me 45 mins I just want to be able to run/jog parkrun again and then get out and do the odd touring again.
Standard brunch for me at lunch time but must try a LOT harder from now on. No good me preaching to Chris and not practising my own advice.
Another bright but not so early start. Breakfast of 2 weetabix, banana and a mug of black Americano stuff and it was off to Horsham Park, again!, to take photos of the Halloween junior parkrun.
After I had finished at the park I decided to have a stroll around the park with the camera and take some ‘Autumnal’ photos (CLICK HERE TO VIEW) and then to do a ‘dummy run’ in preparation for next Sunday when I will be taking photos of the junior parkrun again, Abigail is running it, and then dash off to the hill near to Chesworth Farm and take photos of the HJ Gunpowder Trot. It will be easy as managed it in 20 minutes including walking up the hill. Overall I walked close on 1¾ miles with no pain or problems with the knee, still wearing the brace but it seems to be doing the job where rehabilitation is concerned.
Lunchtime was another brunch of oven cooked potato slices, bacon medallions, 2 tesco healthy choice sausages, tinned plum tomatoes and scrambled egg with of course a mug of black Americano coffee.
Spent a couple of hours processing and resizing the photos from the morning and then chilled for a while before my evening meal of Steamed chicken breast with some boiled new potatoes and salad, followed by some fresh pineapple with natural yoghurt 😎
A bright and early, but not too early, so as I could have a baked oats, banana and a nice big mug of black Americano coffe to get my day well and truly started.
Got my makeup done by Vicky and set off to the park, got a couple of funny looks when stopped at the traffic lights though and this is the reason why
Spent a pleasant hour taking snaps of happy runners and really feeling down in the dumps but starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Lunchtime meal was a nice brunch of Oven cooked potato slices, bacon medallions, scrambles eggs and some tinned plum tomatoes, with 1 wholemeal thin plus of course another black Americano coffee.
Spent a couple of hours sorting through the 1100 photos I took and decided on 408 to use, so then a quick mass resizing job and once a header photo was made it was a quick upload and job done !!
Chill out time and then time for my evening snack which was not 100% good as me and Vicky shared a small portion of chips and a portion of batter cod ‘½ of the fish each’ and then after a while it was bed time.
Woke up feeling good this morning, my knee is definitely responding as there is now NO PAIN when I lay in bed and even when turning and especially when I get up in the morning (or during the night as us old ones have to do). I reckon the brace is making a BIG difference as I now tend to wear it most of the day and it really seems to be helping the knee recover.
Breakfast today was simply a portion of baked oats with strawberry slices, a banana and a mug of black Americano coffee. Also started drinking a cup of warm lemon water first thing.
My lunch was a simple and boring snack of salad leaves, cucumber chunky, spicy baby beetroots and some seafood sticks. Nice and basic but filling without any bad stuff involved .
Evening meal was the rest of my turkey mince mix (cooked from fresh again but the say tasty mix. Dessert was a full Mullar Light yoghurt this time as I made sure that there were plenty in the fridge.
Managed some exercise today in the form of 5 minutes of rowing and 5 minutes of static bike, 50 situps and 50 assorted weights. Taking it steady and slowly to get back.
Time for an early bit of kip as up early in morning so as I can get ready for the Halloween parkrun as I am gonna be snapping pics.
I am fffffing bored, I wanna get out and run but I know if I do I will put my knee back weeks.
Michelle has departed for Budapest for a Salsa function and she will be meeting up with Vicky’s cousin while she is there. Next year we all hope to spend a week over there (Me, Vicky, Chris, Michelle, Abi and Zac) so we can have a full family holiday.
Food wise I have been better than good today, breakfast was 2 weetabix with milk, banana and a mug of black Americano coffee.
Lunch snack was some salad leaves, cucumber, baby plum tomatoes, spicy baby beetroots, seafood sticks and some ham slices.
Evening meal was a good portion of Minced Turkey cooked with onions, soya sauce, chicken stock, bean sprouts and boiled rice, rather tasty and healthy. Dessert was half a Muller Light yoghurt (Vicky had the other half)
Now I just need to stick with it and get my head on right and it will be a case of ‘WEIGHT on your bike’
